Top 6 Reasons Why Site Is Declined

May 27, 2014 in News

Fidelity Media attempts to protect advertisers and strictly follows Publishers Acceptance Guidelines, recommended by the Interactive Advertising Bureau. All websites submitted to us go through approval process but, unfortunately, not every site get approved. Here are six frequent reasons why applying site is rejected.

1. Site traffic from US, UK, CA, AU is less than 20%

Fidelity Media has some traffic requirements. Specifically, minimum 20% of site traffic should come mostly from US, UK, CA, AU or European countries.

2. Site content isn’t unique and frequently updated

Brand advertisers are looking for high ranking sites with relevant content that attracts internet traffic and prospective customers. It is essential that site content is of good quality and being updated on a regular basis.

3. No ‘Privacy Policy’ and ‘Contact Us’ pages

Required sections for each site. It’s important to let your users know what types of information you receive from them, how that data will be used. Also webmaster should provide maximum contact details which let visitors get in touch with him. An easy readable privacy policy and a complete Contact Us page is one of the key factors that determine your site online reputation and business credibility. Thus, the absence of these pages makes your site look untrustworthy and involves rejection.

4. Site contains an excessive number of ad units or hasn’t appropriate ad space

An excessive advertising and density of ad units influence consumer perception and make ads less effective, therefore, enormous amount of ads are not permitted. On the other hand, if there isn’t any banner or ad space on website then it’s considered inappropriate for advertising and won’t be accepted.

5. Site contains malware

Please keep in mind that before submitting a site you should be absolutely sure it’s not infected. Sites which contain, install, link to, or prompt the download of any sorts of malicious software (viruses, worms, spyware, and Trojan horses) will be declined.

6. Site content automatically redirects to other sites or interferes with navigation

Automatic redirects to other sites are used to display some content different from that user expect to see. These practices are considered deceptive and unacceptable. A website shouldn’t manipulate users and show malicious pop-ups which cause interference with normal navigation. Thus, this way to attract visitors’ attention and to inflate audience numbers doesn’t comply with Fidelity Media brand safety policy.

We strongly believe that brand safe traffic sources are the key to prosperous and successful partnership. A complete list of our guidelines is available on our official site.
